Multimedia, Nostalgia, and Current Day Events
Sometimes there are interactions or conversations that take place around us that move us at our cores. A conversation takes place between character Liz and their about to be departed grandmother, with the help of *alien friend, Max’s, powers. With the recent and sudden passing of my cousin for reasons seemingly “somewhat” shrouded in mystery, but likely a suicide, myself and other family members are left drifting, wondering, and incomplete. Wouldn’t it be nice to have one more conversation? one more before a parting of the ways? Roswell, Season 1, Episode 4 [Grandma Claudia] Honey Bear. Let me guess. Max. [Liz] Grandma, I guess the thing that I…

*IT’S A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL*
Loved that ride at Disney, It’s a Small World After All… but I’ve realized something very important… that is impacting human and social relations on a weird scale and in an awkward way. “The world is not as big as you think it is!”; “The world just keeps getting smaller and smaller”; “Wow, it’s such a small world. Fancy meeting you here…”; “Well you know, it’s a small world – getting smaller by the day”; “Wouldn’t you know! It’s a small world after all…”; The underlying assumption is that people are getting closer together… that we are getting access to what and who we need when we need it and…

WATCH Pose (seasons 1-3)
Quotes from the gorgeous and fabulous (though mostly fictional character base) series “Pose” (three seasons already!) that helps us in the 2020s understand what happened with the queer community and underground balls in New York in the 1980s. A somewhat (and beautifully created and reenacted) historical narrative. “Remember, Doll, there’s not many yous out there…” [as Nurse Judy encourages Blanca Evangelista on their inclination to become a nurse, despite their school history of dyslexia. Their partner (also in medical profession) says they will support their decision and coach them] [Blanca Evangelista]: “When you get rejected by your mother, your father, you’re always out there looking for someone to replace the…

Dream People & Self Learning
After a troubling few encounters in my current profession this last week I had come to realize – yet again – that no one had my back when I needed them to. Not only that, but I would need to learn to define for myself the gray areas when people are harassing me and how much I can or should tolerate before calling it a day and having someone else deal with it (safety risk assessment… but also a personal one) Sometimes these days are accompanied by dreams, but sometimes these dreams come later or much later. In a recent dream where I was designated to arrange or complete a…

People as Children
What’s so wrong with being a kid? Children are people, people are children – all of us on some level. What is so wrong about relying on others? Is it not true that there are natural instances for when relying on others takes precedence? Perhaps for some of us we have symbiotic relationships, maybe things are mutually beneficial – though we differ extremely. And then, there are those of us that are codependent or dependent on others as a natural course – whether chosen, or selected by default (genetics, disability, etc) Who are we to judge those that need others to support them? That need others to improve their quality…
