Democrats & Republicans

Fuck ’em.

Walking our pug late at night on our “weekend”, my partner checked the mailbox and found another ‘call for donations’ from the President Obama campaign for funding the political party… My partner tossed the letter in the trash.

Biden talked about this. He promised that. And what happened? Nothing.

My partner went on to remind me:

$2000 a month COVID-19 stimulus check? Only the $1400 per working individual in March 2021 to round out the $600 from the turn of the year(?) It is May, no further “monthly” check ideas…

Student Loan Forgiveness? That fell by the wayside. Disappointment. Chagrin. Would have been nice for many of us.

Medicare for All? Especially in this time of crisis? A pipe dream.

Healthcare in America is a business, it is about making money, it is about gouging citizens & companies, it is about promoting an unrealistic expectation and dream, while pulling the realization of that dream farther out of reach from anyone to achieve it.

I say STOP villain-izing social healthcare.

It works in Japan, it works in England, it could work here, too. I speak from first hand experience in these countries in dental upkeep, sickness, prescriptions, physical therapy, and regular feminine-specific need check-ups.

Got what I needed with social healthcare, without waiting anymore than I already do in the USA, provider variety, accessible locations, and it was cheaper all around.

Their slogan should be “it’s just better here” cause it would be true.

Just goes to show you that you can’t trust Republicans, but you also can’t believe in the Democratic party. Politics is politics and they will say whatever they think needs to be said to get voters behind them.

My partner went on to identify that there are those that profess to be Democrat, but are unaffected by the many things that plague the common person.

Since it is not THEIR problem, it is OUR problem.

There are those in the Senate that are Democrat, and were voted in by their cities/state, but purposefully vote not the party line, because whatever the issue or decision is, they want to be seen as separate, unique, or unaffected by the sway of the overall Democratic agenda – holding out and affecting necessary votes from moving forward into the potential for some semblance in reality.

Good grief politics. Why can’t it just be about who is the best Humanitarian?

I like what Jeff Merkley has been doing for Oregon.

I follow them on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and get e-mails with updates to my “personal” account that I am surprisingly, interested to read

He is doing good work, and cares about issues that I have been familiar with or have heard of.

It renews my faith in politics AND humanity when I see the kind of talk he talks and the fact that he puts this into writing, petitions, and then actionTHAT should be politics for humanity

–And this coming from someone that does not usually read the newspaper, does not search out news unless it is something I am interested in or support, and have been reading very little since school/college got me all tired of reading…

Time has not been kind to my interest in further intellectual pursuits

And now, this:
